Environmental Remediation and Total Demolition Overview
The Duke Energy Power Plant project included:
- Removal and disposal of all hazardous materials, including trenches, piping, and equipment
- Removal of asbestos insulation and transite removal from 8 external power boilers (120-135 feet high)
- Removal of asbestos and hazardous materials from turbine generating building (600’ x 150’ in size)
- Removal of asbestos and hazardous materials from 5/100 MW turbine generating units and all associated equipment
- Demolition of power boiler structures and all associated equipment

CST Environmental prepared and shipped approximately 15,000 tons of scrap metals and restored the site.
